| ![]() A DiSEqC(Digital Satellite Equipment Control) switch does one thing, and one thing well: it combines up to 4 satellite feeds into one single output to your DVB card. Almost every DVB card and application incorporates the DiSEqC standard, meaning your software and card understands which feed is connected to each input on the DiSEqC switch. What this means for you is that only a click or two on your software to switch satellite feed. A DiSEqC works very much the same way a Dishnetwork multiswitch(sw-64 for example) does, but they are not compatible with each other. Your feeds should be direct from your Antenna LNB. Look at the diagram below: ![]() To view up to four satellites is simple: configure your software to tell it which LNB is connected on which DiSEqC, your software will do the rest. The DiSEqC standard is widespread across Europe and with Free-to-Air users in North America. The reason why this may not be well-known to many in North America is because DirecTV and Dishnetwork, as well as Bell ExpressVu are widespread, and use multi-switches. In short, the world standard is DiSEqC, but little implemented in North America. For good and detailed source of information on the DiSEqC standard, go to the Eutelsat web site
